Meet the Secretariat

Kaleena R. roeva

SECRETARY GENERAL

Kaleena Roeva is a senior studying a double concentration in Government and Economics at Harvard. She is from the D.C. area, but her family is originally from Bulgaria. Dedicated to Model UN since her freshman year of high school, Kaleena has served as one of the Head Delegates of Harvard’s intercollegiate competitive team and as the Under-Secretary General for Committees at the inaugural session of HNMUN Africa in Nairobi this past year. Kaleena has also served as the Undersecretary General of Business for HMUN 2023, a Director of DISEC at HNMUN 2024, and the Co-Director of Training for the competitive team.

Outside of Model UN, Kaleena is interested in politics, business, and languages. At Harvard, she serves as the Associate Director of Case Development on the Board for the Harvard College Consulting Group and has a deep interest in languages, with native proficiency in English and Bulgarian and professional proficiency in both Spanish and French. In her free time, you can find her grabbing coffee or watching Scandal on Netflix.

Patil Djerdjerian

DIRECTOR GENERAL

Patil is a junior studying Government and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations with a language citation in French. She is Canadian, originally Armenian, and was born and raised in Dubai.

Growing up with a culturally diverse background in a cosmopolitan city sparked her interest in international affairs, which led her to participate in Model UN throughout high school and at Harvard as a Director for HMUN China 2023, HMUN Boston 2024, HNMUN Africa 2024 and HMUN India 2024. She is also currently serving as the Under-Secretary-General for the Economic and Social Council & Specialized Bodies of HNMUN Boston 2025.

Outside of Model UN, she is the Deputy Director of High School Conferences for the Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative, Treasurer of the Armenian Student Association and writer for The Harvard Crimson. In her free time, she likes to read, travel, take long walks by the river, pretend she’s good at yoga and excessively drink coffee.

OMAR DARWISH

Under-Secretary-General for Administration

Omar is a junior at Harvard College studying Economics and Government with a secondary in Statistics. Omar was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt before moving to the United States for middle school. He has been involved in Model United Nations since his time attending the Bronx High School of Science in New York City. At Harvard, Omar serves as a head delegate on Harvard's competitive travel team, ICMUN, while also serving as the Under Secretary General of Crisis Committees for HNMUN Boston. He has competed at dozens of conferences throughout his Model UN career, now competing in primarily crisis committees on the collegiate circuit. He staffed both HMUN and HNMUN Boston as an assistant director before directing the ADHOC himself at HNMUN 2024. Outside of MUN, Omar enjoys playing soccer and catching up on the latest fixtures of Premier League games. He also enjoys binge-watching Netflix and playing chess with his friends. VED PANT

Under-Secretary-General for Operations

Ved is a sophomore at Harvard studying Applied Math and Economics. Ved was born and raised in Mumbai, where he first tried Model UN as a middle schooler competing on the Indian speech and debate circuit. In fact, when he was in high school he himself participated in and helped staff HMUN’s international conferences, so he was in your exact shoes as a delegate just a few years ago! At Harvard, he is a part of the Intercollegiate Model UN team and a staffer for Harvard’s high school and college conferences in Boston and India. Apart from Model UN, Ved spends his time on campus working at the college consulting group, helping manage The Harvard Shop, or bowling (often multiple wides) for the Kennedy School Cricket Team. His other interests include futsal and playing the drums. Ved is extremely excited for our inaugural in-person conference in Dubai and looks forward to getting to meet all of you! MAITRI SHAH

Under-Secretary-General for Committees

Maitri is a junior at Harvard College from Calgary, Canada, pursuing a double concentration in Computer Science and Statistics. She has been involved with Model UN since high school, serving as the president of her high school MUN team, and now competes on the collegiate circuit with Harvard's Intercollegiate team. She has (assistant) directed at Harvard (National) Model United Nations Boston for the past two years, and is currently serving as the Under Secretary-General for the General Assembly for HMUN Boston 2025. Outside of MUN, Maitri is the president of Harvard Emerging Technology Group and also consults with Harvard Undergraduate Consulting for Business and the Environment. In her free time, she loves exploring Boston, hiking in the Rocky Mountains, learning to cook different recipes, and going on walks with her friends. She’s super excited to bring some amazing committees to HMUN Dubai 2025 and cannot wait to meet you all in January!
